With the club releasing a brand new re-working of the legendary Johnny Cash classic ’Ring of Fire’ as their official song for Saturday's FA Cup Final, Gerrard has revealed the tune is already a big favourite in the Liverpool dressing room. With all net proceeds being donated to charity, the Reds skipper is also hoping the song, which is available to download by clicking here, can go all the way to number one. "I really like the 'Ring of Fire' song and think it's great that it's our official Cup Final record this year," says Gerrard. "I'm sure it will be well received. I'm just glad we didn't have to do a rap on it or sing it ourselves because that would have been a disaster! "My message to all Liverpool fans is download it on Liverpoolfc.tv and support the bid to get it to Number One. "As I say, I'm a big fan of the song, as are most of the lads here. When we're playing and hear the fans singing it, it gives us all a great boost. "Hopefully, if all goes well in Cardiff on Saturday, the champagne will be out in the dressing room afterwards and all the boys will be singing it in celebration. "Having so many foreigners in the squad, it's such a great song for us because the words are easy to learn. Even those who don't know them can join in with the chorus." Liverpool's official Cup Final song for 2006 is performed by 'The Boot Room All-Stars' - Tim Speed and Apollo 440 - and features the distinctive vocals of Echo and the Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch. All net proceeds from the sales of the download will go to the Marina Dalglish Appeal, an organisation set up by Marina and Kenny Dalglish to raise money for a new Oncology ward at University Hospital Aintree.
